Aram Book Club . . . What should we read?

Fifteen titles were suggested for our book club to talk about during 2013.  Unfortunately, we only meet 11 times.  Here is a list of the titles we're considering.  Please let me know which ones you would like to read and discuss in the new year.

I've chosen The Secret Life of Bees for our January book, just to get us started.  Hopefully, I'll have the list narrowed down before we meet on January 17 so I can have the next book -- and the bookmark listing our schedule -- ready for you.

The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach (Fiction)

The Passage by Justin Cronin (SciFi/Fantasy Fiction)

In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson (Nonfiction)

Defending Jacob by William Landay (Fiction)

Fire in the Ashes by Jonathan Kozol (Nonfiction)

Still Life by Louise Penny (Mystery Fiction)

The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff (Fiction)

The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides (Fiction)

The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman (Nonfiction)

Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo (Nonfiction)

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden (Fiction)

Empire Falls by Richard Russo (Fiction)

Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese (Fiction)

The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (Fiction)

Aram Book Club is open to readers of all ages.  If any of these books sound interesting to you, please join us on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and feel free to contact me with questions or comments.
