What's on Your Training Table?
If you are the parent of a child participating in sports, have you ever been shocked to learn of children having Snickers and Coke for breakfast on game day? Does your young athlete prefer junk food to a balanced meal? Is it OK to let kids eat whatever they want, since they're burning all those calories on the playing field or in the pool? Is thirst a reliable indicator of the amount of water an athlete needs to drink?
Proper nutrition can make a world of difference in an athlete's performance, attitude, and enjoyment of the sport. Learn about eating for better performance, game-day meals and snacks, proper hydration, and have your questions answered at this class presented by Nutrition Educator Karie Lutz from the Walworth County UW-Extension.
Nutrition 101 for Parents of Active Kids will be held at Aram Public Library on Wednesday, June 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. If you have an interest in youth sports nutrition or you're the person
feeding the athletes in your family, then this class is for you.
Contact the library at 728-3111 Ext. 100 to register today!
