Wild and Wacky Water Wonders – Tuesday, July 6 @ 1:30 p.m.
Watch water freeze in mid-air! See it multiply before your eyes! Join ventriloquist Chris McBrien and his puppets for a fun-filled water magic show.

Reel to Real Documentary Film – Wednesday, July 7 @ 6:00 p.m.
The Botany of Desire (120 minutes; Rated PG)
Featuring Michael Pollan and based on his best-selling book, this special takes viewers on an exploration of the human relationship with the plant world as seen from the plants' point of view. The program shows how four familiar species -- the apple, the tulip, marijuana and the potato -- evolved to satisfy our yearnings for sweetness, beauty, intoxication and control.

Recycled Crafts – Thursday, July 8 @ 1:30 p.m.
Paper, glass, metal. The primary substances in our recycle bins take on new life in this program for teens and adults. Create decorative and practical containers for your desktop, bookshelf, kitchen and other areas of your home.

The Bassmeister – Tuesday, July 13 @ 1:30 p.m.
The Bassmeister is a fun and entertaining guy who brings the excitement of fishing to the library. His fishing comedy show includes puppets, ventriloquism, illusions and more mixed with tips on fishing skills and water safety.

Savory Sandcastles – Thursday, July 15 @ 1:30 p.m.
What could be more delicious on a hot summer day than a cool glass of lemonade and an edible sandcastle. Build a “Sandcastle” out of cookies and crackers, frosting and candy. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Kids Book Discussion – Wednesday, July 21 @ 3 p.m.
H.I.V.E. by Mark Walden
The Higher Institute of Villainous Education is operated on a volcanic island in a distant ocean by a shadowy organization of worldwide wickedness. And, as 13-year-old master of mischief Otto Malpense soon discovers, here the slickest of young tricksters, thieves, and hackers have been brought against their will to be trained as the next generation of supervillains. Otto and his friends refuse to be held prisoner at the institution and develop a scheme to escape from the island, but they must defeat the all-seeing computer system, a seemingly undefeatable assassin in black, and a giant carnivorous plant to succeed. Parents who have read the book may attend with the permission of their children.

Adult Book Discussion – Wednesday, July 21 @ 7 p.m.
The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan
Working in his garden one day, Michael Pollan hit pay dirt in the form of an idea: do plants, he wondered, use humans as much as we use them? While the question is not entirely original, the way Pollan examines this complex co-evolution by looking at the natural world from the perspective of plants is unique. The result is a fascinating and engaging look at the true nature of domestication.

Recycled Fashion Show – Tuesday, July 27 @ 1:30 p.m.
Create a stylish eco-outfit from recycled or waste materials. This family program invites you to think outside the recycle bin and design a piece of wearable art, fashion, or an accessory based on the creative use of “trash” -- found, salvaged, scavenged, and repurposed materials. Bring your completed fashion or use the materials provided.

Summer Program Finale – Water Carnival! – Saturday, July 31 from 10-11:30 a.m.

Family Game Day – Mondays at 1:30 p.m.
What better way to spend a summer afternoon than playing games with friends and family. Chess, checkers, board games, card games and jigsaw puzzles will be provided.

Lapsit Story Time – Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
Tiny Tots Time – Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
These programs bring caregivers and babies or toddlers together for an hour of stimulating experiences intended to nurture the bond between caregiver and child and to increase the caregiver’s awareness of their child’s development.

Cuentos y Artes en Español (Spanish Story Time) – Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.
For Spanish-speaking families with children of all ages. Enjoy stories, songs, crafts and other activities in this hour of reading fun.

Preschool Story Time – Fridays at 10 a.m.
Help your child prepare for school while having fun too! Meaningful literacy activities, such as reading, singing and playing with children, can impact a child’s brain development and subsequently, help provide them with the pre-reading skills they need to start school.
