Book Discussion – Wednesday, August 19 at 7 p.m.
Hot, Flat and Crowded by Thomas Friedman
Friedman takes a look at two of the biggest challenges we face today: America’s surprising loss of focus and national purpose since 9/11; and the global environmental crisis, which is affecting everything from food to fuel to forests. In this groundbreaking account of where we stand now, he shows us how the solutions to these two big problems are linked--how we can restore the world and revive America at the same time. Copies of the book and discussion guide are available at the library. Anyone who has read the book may attend.
Digital Photography Series – Mondays at 6 p.m.
This series of three classes will inaugurate the library’s new computer lab. Library computers are available for this class, or you may bring your own wireless-enabled laptop.
